December Scribbles

This post is gif-heavy, and when I meant it's heavy, it's really heavy. What am I talking about.

First of all,

So, the festive season has arrived, yet in a blink in an eye. While people from all walks of life are diving into shopping malls to get their last-minute Christmas shopping done and indulging in festive food, some university students  (referring to yours truly) are buried in two-meter-tall examination notes, textbooks, and what's not, and indulging in assignments, from psychopathology to the nooks and crannies of a brain. Nevertheless, December is a month that everyone is waiting for, well simply because..

And potential holidays to witness a true White Christmas.. I love winter, which is not a surprise coming from a Singaporean, living in Singapore, a place where we get summer 24/7 365 days a year. If you didn't get it, that is pretty much every single darn day here.

Well, for people (referring to me again) who are stuck in this what-is-known-to-be-a shiny red dot, and it is in a literal sense, because every Christmas, Orchard Road a.k.a our nation-pride, is always lighted up like there's no tomorrow. Sorry, I would like to correct myself - they started decorating as early as October. Kiasu? Nah, it's just our national trait.

Christmas is fun. Despite all the assignments and the dreaded examinations, I still have around 8 Christmas parties lined up on my calendar. I swear it's god-damn exhausting, but perhaps, that's part and parcel of Christmas. Parcels and gifts, I have no idea how to wrap them, unlike my girlfriend who seemed like a mummifier (a.k.a. mummy embalmer) in her past life.

Talking about gifts, some are good, no, it doesn't have to be expensive, but a gift with thought is a gift that everyone likes. However, some times you get shitty gifts, that have no practical use for it.

Nevertheless, the food is surely worth to die for. Christmas pies, brownies, cookies, turkeys, log-cakes, and brownies again. Now, imagine a table full of food and desserts. Oh nom nom.

Talking about desserts, I recently made two batches of Rocky Road Brownie Bars for some parties, and they loved it, so if you're wondering what you should get for pot-luck, try it! Anyway, do you ever wonder why Christmas is all about desserts?

No wonder Santa Claus is always portrayed as a chubby character, with a huge ass.

Ohh sorry, that was rather inappropriate. This is pretty lovely though:

All in all, Christmas is a festive season for fun and activities, where people all around get together to feast, carol, and exchange gifts. However, beyond the mortal gifts and parties, Christmas is more than that. This day, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and that's the real meaning of Christmas.

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son" (1 John 5:11).

In fact, last Christmas I did up a blog-post entitled: "7 Christmas Facts You'd Never Know", if you're interested, go check it out, it's free anyway.

Otherwise,

I will see you guys soon with a long list of soon-to-be unaccomplished new year resolutions again.

Cheers!
