We were on a cafe-hopping trip at Everton Park, where dozens of hidden gems reside, when we dropped by Provision Shop, a charming and humble cafe, furnished with trendy wooden furniture amidst a tinge of nostalgia - even the name of the cafe struck me with sentiments from my childhood days. They even used the milo tin for tips!
They had a lunch promotion when we visited (sandwich + soup of the day + coffee/tea), nevertheless we got half of the Reuben Sandwich (S$14), a substantial masterpiece made of toast crafted from French sourdough, paired with homemade corned beef, Swiss cheese and finished with Russian dressing. This dish is completed with a side of sauerkraut.
Creme Brulee (S$3.50) is just the perfect dessert to end the lunch. It's served in a ramekin and seemingly for one portion - perfect for those who are health-conscious, yet want to test test. Not a fan of creme brulee? No worries - their blueberry lemon cake (S$6.50) is worth a try too.
At the Provision Shop, services are prompt and pretty impressive. What's more is that there are no GST nor service charges attached to the bill. However, if you feel that they deserve more what you are paying, feel free to drop it in the milo tin. During our visit, they had this Sennheiser headphones, which you could plug in your music and spend the lazy afternoon away with a cup of coffee.
