Loacker needs no additional introduction. Their iconic Italian wafers packed inside familiar packaging designs have lined the shelves of local supermarkets for as long as limbeh could remember. Recently, my best bud, Fernando (with the silent "o") and I were honoured to be invited for the launch of Loacker's new flavour, and to savour Loacker-inspired desserts at Two Bakers, a quaint bakery-cafe located at Horne road. Check out our experience here:
For anyone who haven't heard of Loacker (perhaps you're living under a rock), Loacker is based in the South Tyrol region in Italy since 1925 and is sought after in more than 80 countries. They are well-known for producing quality wafers, which come in a variety of flavours such as Napolitaner, Hazelnut, and my favourite Cremkakao. To celebrate their 90th anniversary, Loacker released a brand-new flavour - Raspberry yoghurt in Singapore.
Loacker uses only the finest ingredients. For every 100g of raspberry-yoghurt cream filling, there is approximately 10g of sun-ripened raspberries, which are gently processed with no hydrogenated fat, flavouring or preservatives. 74% of their wafers are made of cream filling, poised to delight one's taste bugs with the rich and piquant flavour of raspberry-yoghurt.
Using Loacker's signature wafers, Erica - one of the three owners of Two Bakers - whipped out a wide variety of desserts, such as Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, and mini-Ricotta cheesecake. Creativity is evitably endless with these Loacker's snacks, which are good even eaten on its own. I mean.. obviously right? Limbeh has been munching on these since 20 years ago.
We even have a little DIY decorating-our-cupcake session. Just check our Fernando working his magic. White cream filling, pink cream filling, heart decorations, pink pearl sugars.. Not to blame them la, out of the 20+ people, only 3 are guys (but seriously, pink is a masculine colour, no joke). Just check out Fernando's cheeky smile, and you'll know that we don't mind at all. heh heh heh.
Here's a nicer one (not that Fernando's is not. lol) done by fellow foodie, Hannah.
