Before I start this post, I want to wish my readers GONG HEI FATT CHOY, may you huat a lot in this new year.
I've been to Pies & Coffee more times than the number of fingers I have, well, mostly to mug before my examinations with a couple of friends. If you still have no god-damn idea where is this cafe located at Rochester Mall, which is just literally a stone throw away from The Star Vista. Okay, since this is not my first post on Pies & Coffee, I won't bore you with more descriptions of the place. Recently I was there again, with my love of trying new things (including girls, just kidding), here are two more food items that you should try out.

Egg & Cheese Croissant (S$13.50) already looks mouth-watering with its luscious eggs (approved by limbeh) and cheddar cheese. This comes with a set, so you get to choose between a Long Black (aka ang-moh Kopi-O-Kosong [Western version of Coffee Black], want sugar add yourself please) or English Breakfast Tea (not diao-yu hor [a type of cheapo traditional Chinese Tea], mai siao siao [don't play play]). Two things though: the croissant was not as fluffy as expected (perhaps they microwaved it) and they really should add some bacon or ham inside. Oh sia la, not halal.
If you're bored of the standard brown-crust and have great love for curry, Charcoal Crust Curry Chicken Pie (S$11.20) is the pie for you. We love the fact that the curry chicken was not overly dry, and packed a punch to our taste buds (might be sibei-spicy [super]for those who don't jiak [eat] curry). This lovely comfort food comes with a side of mashed potatoes and salad as well. But to be honest, aside from the colour of the charcoal (and apparent health benefits), it doesn't really add much flavours, if any at all. Still it looks good on camera hor?
If you're looking for somewhere to study in the west, look no further than this place. Besides being equipped with natural wind, the miniature fountains do provide some soothing sounds to calm your nerves down before you destroy your brain cells from memory overload.
